Do justice. Love mercy. Walk Humbly.
January 28. 2012
Part 1: Afternoon Session
What if our middle school, high school, and college students believed that they were the very hands and feet of Jesus in our world today? At the YEC (Youth EnCounter) in Northern VA on January 28, students will be invited into Mission Possible, where they can join with God in changing the world.
They will have a chance to be inspired by leaders from International Justice Mission, hear great music, and conspire with students from throughout the region on how they can join in the mission of God, to restore the world to how God intended. Along with powerful speakers, there will be creative experiences, worship, conversations, breakout sessions, and more to help students both imagine ways forward and take steps of action.
Part 2: Evening Session
Everyone is invited to join together: students, adults, college students, young, old, enemies, friends, leaders, followers and especially YOU, to explore the convergence of justice, art, mission, love, hope, and the future. What if we are the very people the world is waiting on to imagine and enact Mission Possible? We will be inspired from some amazing speakers, witness a live painter, imagine the new reality, and spend time responding and reflecting through creative collaborations around the building in a convergence of art + justice + mission. Accept the mission. Help make the mission possible.
Our theme verse for the day is:
Micah 6:8b
“And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
